General Concept
Talking Hank Adventure Guide is a vibrant 3D animated series that brings Hank’s tropical island world to life through humor, curiosity and adventure. Set on Adventure Island, the series follows Hank as he explores lush landscapes, meets curious creatures and turns everyday discoveries into playful stories for audiences of all ages.
The project was designed to expand the universe of the game into an animated narrative format, preserving the charm and personality of Hank while giving his world a broader emotional and visual dimension. From Game to Animated Series
The main creative challenge was translating an already established game universe into a series format. Hank already had a strong identity as part of the Talking Tom & Friends universe, so Hype’s work focused on respecting the original visual language while adapting it to the needs of cinematic storytelling.
This meant rethinking how environments, props and characters would behave across multiple episodes. The team preserved Hank’s recognizable design, while refining textures, expressions and animation details to make him feel expressive, alive and ready for a wide range of narrative situations.

Creative Process
The creative process behind Talking Hank Adventure Guide was guided by one central idea: to make Hank’s curiosity the engine of the series. Each episode needed to feel simple, fun and accessible, while still offering enough visual richness to make Adventure Island feel like a real place.
From early sketches to final rendered scenes, the team worked to create a world that could support different kinds of stories, from beach adventures to forest explorations, volcano sequences and underwater moments. Every creative decision was made to reinforce Hank’s optimistic personality and his connection with nature.

Art Direction
The art direction focused on creating a bright, stylized and inviting universe. The team worked from the visual foundation of the game, but adapted the look to support high-quality animation and richer scene composition. The characters remained close to their original designs, while the environments became a major area of creative expansion.
One of the key visual goals was to balance simplicity and detail. The world needed to be clear and appealing for younger audiences, but also sophisticated enough to sustain cinematic framing, expressive lighting and a sense of adventure across 26 episodes.

Production Pipeline
The series was produced as a large-scale 3D animation project, with 26 episodes of 3 minutes each, totaling 78 minutes of animation. Hype was responsible for the full production journey, from animatic development to final master delivery.
To manage this scope, the project was divided into clear phases: pipeline testing, pre-production, production and post-production. Each episode began with a creative and technical briefing, followed by asset breakdowns, production planning, client reviews and progressive approvals. This structure allowed the team to keep quality, schedule and creative alignment under control throughout the series.

Innovation and Workflow
To deliver the series efficiently, Hype developed workflows focused on reuse, prototyping and visual consistency. Blender was used as a fast prototyping tool for props and environments, helping the team test ideas quickly before moving them into the full production pipeline.
The team also relied on strategies such as asset reuse, instance multiplication and careful visual planning to keep the island rich and varied without compromising production efficiency. These techniques helped maintain a coherent look across episodes while allowing the world to feel alive, abundant and playful.

Collaboration with Outfit7
The project was born from a close collaboration between Hype and Outfit7, beginning with conversations in Annecy and evolving into a full production partnership. From the beginning, the shared vision was to create a series that celebrated Hank’s curiosity, optimism and resourcefulness.
The final result reflects a blend of creative cultures: Hype’s warmth, energy and visual inventiveness combined with Outfit7’s strong brand universe and storytelling direction. Together, the teams created a series that expands Hank’s world with humor, heart and a strong sense of adventure.
